The Role's Objectives

  • Build an in-depth understanding of creating dashboards and modelling data with the Microsoft Power Platform (Power BI, Power Query)
  • Build a network throughout AFSL by turning insights from data analysts into regular visualisations/dashboards used by the business to improve their performance.
  • Enhance technical data skills that will be critical to maintaining, optimising, and improving visualisations/dashboards so that the business has the latest and most accurate insights to act upon.
  • Put data at our colleague’s fingertips by supporting the development of our ‘BI Hub’ – an accessible and catalogued repository of all AFSL dashboards.
  • Support AFSL’s BI workload migration to a modern AWS cloud-based data platform.
  • Work with our external partners to supply benchmarking and commercial data extracts.

  • Familiarity with Excel/Power BI or other BI software
  • Strong presentation skills with a focus on visualisation
  • Analytical skills with a problem-solving aptitude
  • Proactive mindset with intent to take initiative and be innovative
  • An inquisitive personality and always interested in the ‘why?’
