iungo Solutions Limited (“iungo”) is a technology and data science start-up. We utilise advanced data solutions to create the connective tissue between employers, training providers, and government. Our engineering team develops EdTech, JobTech, and CareerTech products for young professionals, job changers, and the unemployed and through our partnership with UWTSD, iungo designs and delivers training for budding entrepreneurs and intrapreneurs in South Wales.

This is an exciting opportunity for a creative and motivated individual to join a socially-oriented tech start-up shortly after the launch of its first product, a mobile careers app. You will be part of a small team of software engineers driving forward product development in all areas of the product portfolio.

You will work closely with the Product and Platform teams, in addition to external development partners and consultants. You will be expected to:

  • Conduct user pilot groups and User Centred Design (UCD) planning activities
  • Translate user experience (UX) and UCD research into technical requirements
  • Develop new product features in React Native, and/or iOS/Android Native frameworks
  • Add, edit, and manage content within the Platform
  • Create and maintain documentation in accordance with ISO/IEC/IEEE 26511:2018
  • Conduct Quality Assurance (QA) of new features developed by your peers
  • Engage in collaborative working practices, such virtual pair programming
  • Perform routine, scheduled product maintenance tasks

During this placement, you will develop your programming and team working skills, develop knowledge of agile development, and receive one-to-one Career Coaching. Your work will directly impact the success of the organisation and its products. This is a unique opportunity in which you play a key role in building a new start-up, with exposure to all key business activities.

You will report into the Product Manager.

Familiarity with and understanding of:

  • software architectures and technology stacks
  • product development methodologies
  • Customer journey research and User-Centred Design (UCD)

  • Javascript programming

  • User Experience (UX) and creative design
  • mobile and web-based App development (ideally using React Native)
  • Amazon Web Services (Amplify, Cognito, Sentry)
