About me:
Shwmae! My name is Dan. I'm a politics undergraduate at Cardiff University and I'm the account manager for professional services at Newsdirect Wales, a political monitoring company based in Cardiff Bay. I have a real passion for politics and I'm always eager to develop our emerging sense of political life here in Wales. Through my academic pursuits I have developed an in-depth contemporary understanding of politics in Wales and the world. I have enjoyed studying modules on Welsh politics, public policy-making, sustainable development, health governance, and African thought. I've developed my academic understanding of these fields which complements my professional experience at Newsdirect Wales. In my spare time, I am privileged to chair ACORN Cardiff, Wales' largest tenant union branch. I have been involved with the branch since its inception and have been inspired by efforts to build power for our communities in Cardiff. I'm a failed chess player and a big fan of sport with Liverpool Football Club bringing me particular joy (mostly!).

Work experience:

Account Manager - Newsdirect Wales (2020 - Present) I have worked my way up from an intern to the position of account manager, firstly supporting our health clients and at present our professional services clients. My day-to-day work consists of summarising Senedd Cymru and Westminster proceedings with a focus on the interests of our clients. I then compile these summaries into a bespoke political monitoring report which is sent on either a daily or weekly basis. I frequently meet with clients to discuss the service and maintain excellent professional relationships with people from all walks of life as part of my work.
