Looking back on 2023: 12 things to celebrate

Dr Owain James

It's been a busy year for Darogan Talent!

2023 saw Darogan move from an ambitious project run by students, to a fully-fledged venture with the resource and backing behind it to start delivering on its promise.

Our following on social media and our website traffic has grown significantly, and we've made big improvements to the service, especially the website.

We've helped organisations in Wales to better understand the skills and talent landscape they are facing, and we've helped organisations reach student and graduates across the UK.

So, since we are in the festive season, with the twelve days of Christmas in mind, I thought I would share twelve of Darogan's achievements from 2023.

Here we go!

Twelve months with a full-time employee (that's me!)

Eleven fairs and engagement events attended (some highlights were M-Sparc's Ar y Lon Don event in the House of Lords, Wales Tech Week by Technology Connected, and Bangor University's Careers fair)

Ten months left of our ARFOR project (find out more here) which has kicked off!

Nine-teen blogs on the website about the student and graduate landscape in Wales

Eight months consulting for the Venture Graduate Programme

Seven appearances on television, radio and print

Six events with student groups based outside of Wales

Five website users from Finland in the last 28 days (perhaps from Lapland!) - we're going global!

Four new employer partners since November (Flintshire Council, Menter a Busnes, Audit Wales and Cyngor Gwynedd)

Three shareholders thanks to Equal’s investment (read more here)

Two employees recruited for 2024

and (of course)

One graduate hub for Wales

It's been a great 2023, but this has all happened with just one person on the team working full time.

In 2024 there will be three of us, and perhaps even more by the end of the year, with exciting projects already lined up.

Imagine what we'll be able to achieve!

Mae wedi bod yn flwyddyn brysur i Darogan Talent!

Yn 2023 symudodd Darogan o fod yn brosiect uchelgeisiol oedd yn cael ei redeg gan fyfyrwyr, i fenter lawn gyda’r adnodd a’r gefnogaeth i ddechrau cyflawni yr hyn addawyd.

Mae ein dilynwyr ar gyfryngau cymdeithasol a thraffig ein gwefan wedi cynyddu'n sylweddol, ac rydym wedi gwneud gwelliannau mawr i'r gwasanaeth, yn enwedig y wefan.

Rydym wedi helpu sefydliadau yng Nghymru i ddeall yn well y dirwedd sgiliau a thalent y maent yn eu hwynebu, ac rydym wedi helpu sefydliadau i gyrraedd myfyrwyr a graddedigion ledled y DU.

Felly, gan ein bod yn nhymor y Nadolig, gyda deuddeg diwrnod y Nadolig mewn golwg, meddyliais y byddwn yn rhannu deuddeg o gyflawniadau Darogan o 2023.

Dyma ni!

Deuddeg mis gyda gweithiwr amser llawn (sef fi!)

Un ar ddeg o ffeiriau a digwyddiadau ymgysylltu wed'i mynychu (rhai uchafbwyntiau oedd digwyddiad Ar y Lon Don gan M-Sparc yn Nhŷ’r Arglwyddi, Wythnos Tech Cymru gan Technology Connected, a ffair Gyrfaoedd Prifysgol Bangor )

Deg mis ar ôl o’n prosiect ARFOR (mwy o wybodaeth yma) sydd nawr wedi cychwyn!

Naw ar bymtheg o flogiau ar y wefan am y dirwedd myfyrwyr a graddedigion yng Nghymru

Wyth mis yn ymgynghori ar gyfer Rhaglen Graddedigion Venture

Saith ymddangosiad ar y teledu, radio a phrint

Chwech digwyddiad gyda grwpiau myfyrwyr y tu allan i Gymru

Pump defnyddiwr o'r gwefan o'r Ffindir yn ystod y 28 diwrnod diwethaf (efallai o'r Lapdir!) - rydyn ni'n mynd yn fyd-eang!

Pedwar partner newydd ers mis Tachwedd (Cyngor Sir y Fflint, Menter a Busnes, Archwilio Cymru a Chyngor Gwynedd)

Tri cyfranddaliwr diolch i fuddsoddiad Equal (darllenwch fwy yma)

Dau weithiwr wedi eu recriwtio ar gyfer 2024

ac (wrth gwrs)

Un Hyb Graddedigion i Gymru

Mae 2023 wedi bod yn wych, ond mae hyn i gyd wedi digwydd gyda dim ond un person ar y tîm yn gweithio'n llawn amser.

Yn 2024 bydd tri ohonom, ac efallai hyd yn oed mwy erbyn diwedd y flwyddyn, gyda phrosiectau cyffrous eisoes ar y gweill.

Dychmygwch yr hyn y gallwn ei gyflawni!
